Scouting ambassadors are prominent people who support us in transforming the lives of young people. They are representatives for Scouting, and use their knowledge and experience to benefit the Movement.

Thanks to their high profiles they can promote Scouting to everyone, encouraging more people to volunteer and more young people to join. They also get the chance to show fellow peers and professionals just how much fun Scouting really is.

MP Penny Mordaunt

Penny not only keeps up to date on Scouting's campaigns as MP for Portsmouth North and encourages young people to get involved with politics, but being a member of the Royal Naval Reserve she also understands the outdoor Scouting spirit for everyday adventure.

"I am really honoured to have been asked to be an ambassador for Scouting in Portsmouth. It is a fantastic Movement teaching young people all kinds of skills and enabling them to gain in confidence. The volunteers who give their time and expertise are really amazing and I hope to be able to help them achieve their ambitions for the groups they work with."

Radio Presenter James Morgan

As a volunteer radio presenter for Express FM, James Morgan understands Scouting's challenge in reducing the waiting list of young people wanting to join the fun and adventure. James' first experience of Scouting was when a group of Explorer Scouts (aged 14-18) convinced him to have a go at zorbing - rolling downhill in a giant orb!

"It is an absolute privilege to be asked to become an ambassador for Portsmouth Scouts. Having been to some of their activities in recent years, I can see the fun and enjoyment that young people from the city get. The Scouts give young people experiences, skills, knowledge and a 'can do' attitude that they can take with them into the work place. The modern day Scouts still work to traditional values, but work hard to stay relevant. I would implore anyone to get involved."

Father Bob White

Scouting is committed to diversity and giving young people from all faiths and backgrounds the opportunity for fun and adventure. Father Bob is a keen supporter and will help the Movement develop further as a values-based organisation that impacts local communities.

"It is a great honour to be invited to be an ambassador for Scouting in the city. My son is a Cub Scout in Portsmouth and I know how much he and his friends benefit from their activities. There has always been a close link between Scouting and faith communities, and I am happy to play a part in promoting that and supporting those who willing and generously provide their time as volunteer leaders."
